The government significantly influences the role of the Law Commission in addition to being its major source of revenue. Any transactions that the Law Commission enters into with government departments, state-owned enterprises and other crown entities occur within a normal supplier or client relationship on terms and conditions no more or less favourable than those which it is reasonable to expect the Law Commission would have adopted if dealing with that entity at arms length. Therefore they are not considered related party transactions.
