16 Statement of Intent Media communications strategy Over the next 12 months we will be looking to implement an altered communications strategy. An important objective of our strategy is developing a greater public understanding of the value of law reform and encouraging a wider public participation in Commission projects through consultation and submissions processes. Over the next financial year the Commission will endeavour to progress this objective by improving: our public profile as an independent law reform body; and accessibility and public engagement on specific projects (e.g. r of regulatory framework for the sale and supply of liquor, review of privacy law, review of the misuse of drugs). In particular, the Commission will use the internet as a key tool for e-consultation by engaging an external provider to work with us on a number of our projects that have high public interest, particularly the review of the regulatory framework for the sale and supply of liquor, and the review of the Misuse of Drugs Act. Relationships with stakeholders The Commissionfs approach to law reform is one of collaboration and consultation. We have made developing good relationships with stakeholders a priority over the past couple of years and we will continue to work with Executive Government, groups, organisations and individuals to build working relationships based on mutual trust and good communication. Corporate policies During 2009/10 the programme of reviewing and updating corporate policies will continue.
