Commission staff support the committee by providing reports on the extent to which Government bills meet LAC Guideline standards. Legislation Design Committee (LDC) Sir Geoffrey Palmer is currently the chair of the LDC. The LDC is an interagency committee which works with officials to advise on the structure and design of legislative and regulatory proposals. Exemptions The Commission has no exemptions under section 143 of Crown Entities Act 2004. 9 Minister has advised that the Select Committee will be asked to invite the Law Commission to be independent advisers on the Bill.
