55 The Law Commission’s Relationship with the Executive under the Act 218.  In conducting its reviews the Law Commission may seek the assistance of any Government Department or organisation as follows (section 8): 8. Assistance by departments—(1) The Commission may consult with any Government  department  or  organisation  concerning  any  review  of  any  aspect  of the law of New Zealand administered by that department or organisation and may receive  from  the  department  or  organisation  such  information  relating  to  that review as is appropriate. (2)  In this section “organisation” means— (a)   An   organisation   named   in   Part   II   of   the   First   Schedule   to   the Ombudsmen Act 1975: (b)   An organisation named in the First Schedule to the Official Information Act 1982: (c)   The  Audit  Office  (as  defined  in  section  14  of  the  Public  Finance  Act 1977). 219.  Clause  6  of  the  First  Schedule  provides  that  at  the  request  of  the  Law Commission the Crown, acting through any Government Department, may from time to time provide or execute for the Law Commission any work or service, or supply to the Law Commission any goods, stores, or equipment. Procedure of the Law Commission 220.  Under sections 14 and 15 of the Law Commission Act the Law Commission may regulate its procedure in such manner as it thinks fit, subject to the provisions of the First Schedule to the Act. Funding of the Law Commission 221.  The Law Commission is funded by (First Schedule, clause 8): (a)     Money  appropriated  by  Parliament  and  paid  to  the  Law  Commission  for the purposes of the Law Commission; (b)     All  other  money  lawfully  received  by  the  Law  Commission  for  the purposes of the Law Commission; and (c)     All accumulations of income derived from any such money. 222.  Money is to be appropriated by Parliament for the purposes of paying all fees, salaries, allowances, and other expenditure payable or incurred under or in the administration of the Law Commission Act (First Schedule, clause 9).
