Cross-border insolvency

In October 1997 the Law Commission started a new project on the subject of international trade. This aspect of the project focused on cross-border insolvency.

Other aspects of the international trade project were:

Recommendations from Cross Border Insolvency: Should NZ Adopt the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency? (NZLC R52, 1999) were reflected in the Insolvency (Cross-border) Act 2006.

There was no requirement for the Government to present a formal response to Commission reports before April 2009.
