This project examined the law of general discovery. The essential issue is on whether and how the virtues of the existing rules as to general discovery could be preserved while at the same time eliminating waste and extravagance from the process.

Government response
No Government action was expected, however, recommendations were made to the High Court Rules Committee.
There was no requirement for the Government to present a formal response to Commission reports before April 2009.
