International sales of goods

In consultation with officials of the Ministry of Justice and others, the Commission considers, in this project, whether New Zealand should accept the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and give effect to it as part of the law of New Zealand.

The Commission’s recommendation was implemented the Sale of Goods (United Nations Convention) Act 1994.

There was no requirement for the Government to present a formal response to Commission reports before April 2009.
