Legislation manual

The purpose of the Legislation Manual project was to provide assistance to legislative drafting in New Zealand by providing a comprehensive set of guidelines and thereby making the process more consistent and effective.

Our proposals on structure and style were substantially adopted by the Parliamentary Counsel Office (PCO) and are in widespread use.

There was no requirement for the Government to present a formal response to Commission reports before April 2009.
