The purpose of this project was to assist the Ministry of Justice in the context of the work it is currently doing by way of review of the Law Practitioners Act 1982.

The Commission’s recommendation for a conditional fee regime was included in the Lawyers & Conveyancers Act 2006.

There was no requirement for the Government to present a formal response to Commission reports before April 2009.
